When a state secedes, it has the choice of opting in to treaties that applied to the mother state. This is called "notifications of succession."

OK…… that certainly settles that Colin. Well laid out.

The ONLY “hitch” in Alberta going forward as a separate country is dealing with the Indigenous folks. There … is the real “snag”.

Yes…. sure…… Alberta would offer them a fair “seat” at the table,….. however,…. Will it satisfy them? Would they fear they would lose the millions upon millions of dollars given to them by the wreckless, ever increasing Carney spending

Speaking of spending … the national debt is now $2.4 TRILLION and growing. Will Alberta be expected to take part of the debt when they sau by by …to a federal government that has continually shit all over them?

The debt will have to be negotiated, certainly. As will the Treatys. The indigenous of Alberta will have a choice: stay as wards of the fed govt under the corrupt and racist Indian Act, or join Alberta as an Albertan, with all of the rights, freedoms, opportunities and yes, obligations, that would incur. Like every other Albertan. Some thought has gone into that here:

But with all of these issues, no one can say for sure. But they will be negotiated out in good faith.

Excellent summary of what will happen after the independence vote succeeds. This info needs to be communicated to all those that support the independence movement.
